Also, this journal looks ugly. I added my LJ colors, but it is still not good looking at all. I'll have to write some CSS for it.

This will give me a chance to paint a new image for the header and maybe make something with a nice texture for the background. I assume that I can use as many images as I like if I do the CSS, so maybe I can make something really illuminated. And that would be helpful for the illuminated manuscript tattoo that I want to work on.

Think about:

• it needs to look nice on a phone
• I, obviously, want the title of my journal displayed
• I still need to figure out about that colored bar in Chrome on Android (here)
• Do I want to have it be seasonal? I could link to remote CSS, which could be generated by PHP....
• Do I want to go through all this work for something that can't also be used on LJ? Can I make it usable on LJ?
• Do I want to do something about the way autoformatting is handled? Do I want to indent? Obviously, lists have to be fixed.

Illuminated manuscript tattoo!?!?!?

Well, I've been trying to figure out how to take the joke "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it is too dark to read." and make it into a tattoo. I've been trying to figure this out for five years. At least. I had thought of some kind of celtic knotwork dog with an eye on its midsection, with a knotwork of reading Groucho Marx as part of the decoration that surrounds it. The problem is that a) knotwork is hard and b) knotwork is cool but I don't have as strong a connection with it as Glen, for example. Finally, I decided that I can draw a book, and then put the stylized dog in the center of the page, and then have some kind of stylized stuff around him (with characters from fiction, Groucho Marx, and probably a nug from the Dragon Age video games, as well as vines and other decorations). It would be like a page from a medieval bestiary. I'm still trying to decide if I should put the words to the joke in medieval style calligraphy on banners on the page or if I should just leave it with the dog, the eye, the book, and Groucho Marx. I'll have it done here, and very very detailed tattoos are part of the Russian tradition. However, even if I have it wrap around my shoulder as much as the golden apple tattoo does, it might still not have enough space to be really detailed. So, that is my somewhat bizarre and complicated plan to make a silly joke into a tattoo. *laugh*

I love it! Also, now I'm imagining how I would illustrate that joke. My quick imagine is a book in a dog. And then sketched inside the dog is an empty reading chair in shadows.
