Still no gas

lillilahThe gas inspectors came today. We had the stove installed, so everything should have been okay. However, the gas line to the ancient water heater didn't work. So, they couldn't install the gas meter, and thus we still don't have hot water or gas to cook with. Our helper got right on that and contacted the realtor, who contacted the landlord. The result of which (after a day of messaging) is that we have an appointment with a gas repair person to come by tomorrow to look at things.
We also bought a bunch of unfinished furniture from IKEA, which can be painted later. While there are many things I don't like about IKEA furniture, I can say that it is convenient. I'm looking forward to being able to get cooler stuff at some point.
Lastly, we had a nice talk with our immigration consultant, who confirmed that we can move forward when we have a bank account. Hopefully, we will get one soon. * crosses fingers *
