The new apartment

Today at 1pm, we picked up the keys to the apartment. It hadn't been cleaned in quite a while, so the floors were pretty filthy. While I cleaned things up, Joel went to Ikea to pick up our stuff. The plan had been that he would get an Uber minivan there and bring everything home. However, the Uber driver said that the stuff wouldn't fit. Joel then spent the next hour and a half trying to find transportation. Eventually, he found a moving truck with a driver who brought him and the stuff to the apartment. There was another guy with them, and the driver and helper carried most of the stuff in. Then, they showed us this couch in the back of the truck and asked if we wanted it for free, since the guy who it belonged to decided he didn't like the color. We took it, since Joel wants a couch. It turns out that this is a new, leather loveseat that costs more than $1000. If someone shows up asking for it, we'll give it back, but it is pretty nice how things turned out. At least, so far.

We probably won't have home internet for a few days, but when we do, I'll try to post photos.
