I have successfully made gingerbread dough. Yay! Joel declared that it is tasty. My next step is to actually bake some. If I can get one batch done today, then I can do two more tomorrow, and I'll be all set.
Houses! I'm having friends over to make them on Christmas Day for those of us without family in town. They are just little guys, but that's plenty. (Not that I can eat them anyway.)
While molasses isn't in the regular food stores, the big fancy store in the center of town had both molasses and salsa, which is also hard to find (and jalapenos, which we would have needed if we wanted to make salsa).
Interesting on the Salsa and peppers. When I travelled there a decade ago I didn't notice, but was left with an impression of well stocked stores and cheap food. Awesome quality.
Living on another location in the world where dried cod is a thing with the Catholic prescriptions for holy weeks and Friday; it was interesting to see the cod hanging in the grocery stores not unlike in my home town.

Any problems sourcing molasses for the dough?
