Yesterday, I gorged myself on raisins. And I felt much better. And I realized that if my brain is doing something intensive, then it needs the fuel to do that intensive stuff. So, I put a bunch of brown rice in my pea soup (where "a bunch" is 10 times what I normally eat, but that is still only 2/3 of a cup of dry rice to be split among four days). I am much less screwed up today. That is a huge relief. And I shouldn't be surprised that it is carbs, it is almost always food and the majority of the time that it is food, it is carbs.

In other news, I have found that I can't really listen to a regular audio book on the treadmill. I like walking outside a lot, so I can trundle along with music or an audio book, and so long as I don't hate what I'm listening to, it is fine. I can't listen to something calm and friendly, like a Brother Cadfael mystery, on the treadmill. It has to be super compelling, because I am fighting an internal battle to keep going, and if the audio book isn't exciting enough to shut out my desire to sit back down, then I will just stop. Murderbot is good, but it is a scarce commodity (since there are a limited number of books, and I listen to them constantly, so they have to be rationed). So, I'm going to need to find something else or just try to struggle through until I can go back outside.
