Magnesium!

I bet I was feeling crappy yesterday because I had slightly decreased the amount of magnesium I was taking. I bought these magnesium capsules. For some reason, I thought they were 100mg each. But they weren't. They were 400mg. I had been taking 200mg of magnesium per day, and 400mg was too strong and made me anxious. (Why I think this works this way: there are a bunch of things that are involved in calcium absorption. Calcium is important for a lot of things in your body: of course, bones but also muscle contraction. Lack of it causes anxiety and depression, numbness and tingling in the extremities, arrhythmias, and fatigue. So, as people, especially women, age, they have all of the above symptoms, right? I wonder if they are all because of calcium deficiency. Now, you can take more calcium, but that can cause other problems and, apparently, even if you eat all the calcium in the world, you won't absorb it without some help. As I said before, there are a bunch of other vitamins that impact how well you absorb that calcium, like vitamin D and magnesium (but there are others). From what I've read, vitamin D being linked to calcium is why seasonal depression happens (I think). For me, if I have too much calcium absorbed, I have more energy, but too much energy makes me anxious. If Joel has too much calcium absorption, then he can't sleep. Calcium also is related to memory and overall cognitive function.) So, anyway, I couldn't take that 400mg, but since they were capsules, I could open them up and dump some of the contents out. The pills weigh 0.76g. I try to get the weight to between 0.58 and 0.55g. However, the last time I organized them, I dumped too much out of a pill and had only 0.52g. I figured that it was no big deal, especially since I am getting more sunlight. I ended up with all my pills being between 0.54 and 0.52g. Clearly, that was not enough. This time, they are more like between 0.58 and 0.56g. Not only have I been tired and kind of depressed, but my memory has been absolute crap. Way worse than usual. I'm hoping that going back up to between 0.58 and 0.56g of magnesium will help even me out.
