Dragon, Part 2
Jun. 13th, 2024 07:04 pmI did more work on the dragon today (I also set a timer so that I wouldn't spend 3 hours working on it). Following the painting rules that I learned, I started in the background and painted a faint castle or ruin, put a river, riverbanks, and some kind of fire in the midground, and worked on the dragon in the foreground. I only got his face and horns done, but I did succeed in changing the shadows and highlights so that he looks much more light part of the painting. I'm really pleased with how a really small change made his horns go from having smooth ridges to ones with little spikes. Next, I need to work on his neck and back. I will probably add in a rock or something in the foreground in front of the dragon (I'll see what Joel thinks), and then I need to add in the highlights and shadows to make it look like he has scales. He is really dragony. I'm pleased.
