Leaky Roof and Leaky Nose
Dec. 8th, 2022 10:12 pmLast night, we had a big storm, and our roof leaked a lot. This morning, I sent the landlord a sternly worded message about our situation. He says the other two owners of the co-op apartment building are refusing to pay for their share of the cost of the roof repairs. I'm guessing that neither the lady downstairs, who bought her place a couple of months ago, or the family in the basement, who have been remodeling their place, have the money to pay. So, anyway, the landlord is going to send someone soon to try and come up with some solution, which I'm guessing will be a stopgap solution, but whatever. What we have definitely learned is that we don't want to be in a co-op here. I'm hoping we can just buy one of the funny little one or two-story places around here that are squished in between big apartment buildings, but we'll see. I'm not really ready to move on to that step, but we might need to move on in some way if the roof continues getting worse.
As for my health, I'm still sick, but I'm not as sick as I was. I've started coughing a lot, which is painful and unpleasant, but hopefully that will pass soonish. I won't go to tai chi on Saturday. I am hoping, though, that I'll be well enough to go to writers group.
Today, I pinned a little of the hoodie, so I can sew some of it tomorrow if I feel better. The other thing I got done was organizing all of our immigration paperwork so that it can be examined by our consultant in advance of our meeting at the immigration office at the end of the month. Oh, and I also made my way through the bank bureaucracy enough to finally get access to online banking. What a pain in the ass. I've needed to do this since May. I'm so glad it is done!
