More Progress
Aug. 29th, 2022 10:13 pmAll is well here. I tried mixing the plaster with glue and got a much better result than previously. However, the texture paste wasn't substantial enough to really fill holes, so I'm going to add a bit more plaster next time. I'm going to also see how it reacts to acrylic paint. I assume it will be fine, but this is just white glue, so I don't want it turning to goo when it gets wet. The surface on my test box is definitely much smoother than it was before the texture paste, though, so at least that part is working.
I've been working on getting more options for places to walk and things to do. Yesterday, I went over to a big monastery in one of the more touristy parts of town and found some nice parks. So I'll definitely be heading back there. Today, I went to a city park up a little to the north. It wasn't the best park ever, but it was cute, nice, and clean. So, I'll go back there too. If I can come up with a handful more walks that are pleasant and don't require getting on transportation, then I'll have enough to be able to pick one when I have no other place to be and no desire to do anything specific.
Did I mention yesterday that I found a writing group on Meetup.com? I'm looking forward to it. I joined a few other groups too, although they all have stopped meeting for the summer, it seems. If I can get a few activities that I go to regularly, even if I only go to some of them once a month, it will really help me meet people. I don't need a lot of close friends here. However, some casual friends would make me feel less like a total outsider here. (Although, it isn't terrible or unexpected.)
