Websites, Water, and Cards
Aug. 18th, 2022 11:17 pmThis morning when I got up, my websites - which I use to run my life - were all down. It took all day before the ISP got the problem fixed (I got a credit). Meanwhile, a guy came to look at the leaking hot water heater and the problem with water from our apartment leaking into the one below. He fixed the hot water heater and found the problem with the pipe. The landlord's insurance guy came by and told me that I couldn't use the water at all, because it was pouring into the downstairs apartment now. Um. I finally got the information that the water from the toilet wasn't pouring into the downstairs apartment, so I could use that. Then, the guy who fixed the hot water heater said that he could temporarily patch the hole in the pipe, but that it would take four hours before I could use the water again. That was annoying but not nearly as bad as not being able to use the water for days. So, that issue is mostly cleared up. At some point in the not too distant future, they will come and permanently fix the problem, which may involve tearing apart our bathroom. We'll see.
Joel is out playing a show, so I headed over to the board game night by myself. It was quite fun. I met a couple of other guys around my age or maybe a bit older who were both Americans and both planning on staying in town for the foreseeable future. I'm glad to be making some acquaintances here.
