This morning, we went to the produce market. We tried to go once before, but we had the days or times wrong. Today, however, it was open. There was a section where people were selling clothing, and then another section where they were selling fruits and vegetables, fish, or bread products. It wasn't fancy, just a regular local farmers' market. We got a pointed cabbage (they have a pointy top) and some peaches. The peaches were delicious. The outer leaves of the cabbage were a bit tough, so I sauteed those. I'll chop up the rest and eat it raw.
Joel assembled the second bench. Yay!! We are starting to move towards our tavern. It still needs a lot of work, though. If nothing else, cleaning up all the trash from the boxes will make the room look significantly better. However, it is still quite bare. Some paintings, plants, and other decorations would really improve it.
Speaking of paintings, I mentioned a few days ago that I might have good news. The news is that DHL is still working in Russia. For a little while, I was excited about the prospect of getting our belongings back. However, they want more than $1000 per box to ship our stuff. I really want my stuff back, but not that badly. I'm going to keep looking for options. However, DHL isn't one of them.
I've been a bit moody lately. I ate part of a peach this afternoon and felt better for about 5 minutes. I also inhaled my lunch in record time. This indicates to me that I probably am just dealing with low blood sugar, which makes sense, as I'm still not eating tons of carbs, and my body is trying to make up for yesterday's really long walk. I'll be fine, of course.
