Immigration Prep Marathon
Aug. 28th, 2018 05:30 pmWhen we signed the contract with our immigration lawyer last week, we were given a list of documents that we needed to get permanent residency. We picked up the certified translations of our passports on Saturday. Yesterday, we spent 3.5 hours getting the fines paid for screwing up some earlier paperwork. In addition to fines, they could have thrown us out of the country. Luckily, they didn't. Today (after I went to the dentist), we spent three hours to get our Russian bank accounts straightened out (they closed Joel's because of inactivity, we think), put money in, and got certified bank statements. Hopefully, tomorrow, we can get our medical exams done, and then on Thursday get our photos taken. That will leave just the language exam, which we really need to do a little more studying for. Thank goodness I'm feeling okay right now.
