Bathroom walls
Apr. 7th, 2024 05:50 pmYou may remember that our bathroom walls were having problems. The house is just right on the dirt with no barrier to keep the walls from absorbing water from the ground. Bacause the walls absorb and then release moisture, the fancy waterproof material on the walls in the bathroom bubbled. The contractor fixed it, and then I painted it. Now, the walls are bubbling again near the bottom. Let's say you put something on the walls that is impermeable, like tile. According to a friend, the bubbles will just appear above the impermeable area. Joel's solution is to install something that is permeable to water, like stone. After talking to ChatGPT, another option may be to put in gutters to try to keep some water away from the walls. So, we'll see. I do like Joel's solution a lot.
