Slow but steady
Nov. 29th, 2023 06:53 pmI ordered a new mailbox for the house! We don't really care for the mailbox that is there. It is rusty, plus the contractors lost the keys for it. I ordered this cooler looking mailbox to replace it (let me know if the link doesn't work). Joel has been hard at work figuring out how to finish up the rest of the house. We are going to need to build a table/counter that will go over the dishwasher and hold the sink. Joel has found some butcherblock (with a core of particle board). Normally, I wouldn't go for particle board, but Joel says that it is a good idea in this case (I think because it will handle humidity changes well). We are thinking about the ways to soundproof the enclosure, so that the dishwasher will be more quiet. He has also been watching a bunch of videos on how to finish the walls with lime. It sounds like it is within our skill level. We both feel pretty excited about this part, as we can fix up stuff that needs to be improved and keep redoing it over time until we get something we really like.
In other news, I think I have figured out some things with the cloud painting. We'll see. It takes a long time to paint even one small cloud, so I only have half of one redone. Maybe this time, it will look better. (Not that most people don't like it, but the clouds didn't look very realistic.)
