I am feeling a bit better (although, we are going to go to Joel's appointment tomorrow a bit early to get our logins set up for the hospital system, and I am stressed, because it will mean doing something), so I was able to get a little more cleaning done, which is always nice. I continue to work on Portuguese verbs and am making a big push to get through the books I'm reading, as they are longer/more serious/slower paced than the books that I usually read, and so I'm starting to feel bogged down. It isn't that I'm not enjoying them, because I am. I just have a lot of stuff that I want to read right now, so having this batch going slowly is frustrating.

Writing is going well. I've gotten to the climax in two of my stories, so I'm having fun with all the drama. The two others are also at exciting points, so I have plenty to write about there too. Oh, and speaking of that, I finally came up with what I'll do with my Henry Hudson/boy's adventure story. It is from the point of view of Henry Hudson's son, who really went with him on his voyages. Henry Hudson seems like kind of a flaky guy who was in debt up to his eyeballs and had a lot of great schemes that people were happy to go along with (like Glen, for those of you who knew him). Also, Hudson's first voyage was one of the first ones that had a log, so we know exactly what happened. The problem is that it wasn't actually that thrilling. Basically, they saw Greenland then went north to try and go over the pole, it didn't work, there was almost a mutiny, and they came back. I planned on adding in pirates, but that still isn't enough. Finally, I decided that I could have the POV character be friends with some of the crew, but then he finds out that some of them are plotting against his father/the captain. His father isn't dealing with things, so the POV character has to come up with some way to foil the mutineers. And then there will also be pirates. Kind of Muppet Treasure Island crossed with Goonies but less silly and more melodramatic.
