Surprisingly organized
Aug. 27th, 2025 09:34 pmI managed to make the appointment for the virtual colonoscopy. It isn't virtual in that it can be done from home but in that it is done with a CAT scan from the outside. Of course, for two days before it, I can't eat any fruit, vegetables, or legumes, which is almost all that I eat. So, I'll try making chicken with broth, white rice, and some ginger, and just eating that until I am required to start fasting. I expect that this will result in pretty low blood sugar, so Joel will come with me to assure I don't collapse. It is on Tuesday, so if I'm useless on Sunday and Monday, it is fine. While this sounds crappy, millions of people suffer through this regularly, and then on top of it, they have to be knocked out, which - at least for me - is awful. So, since this is virtual, I don't get knocked out, and the whole thing only lasts 15 minutes, so I can eat right after that. Should be fine.
In painting news, the wall by my desk (and the part above the stairs) as well as the kitchen are done now. Yay! I need to get the drips off the floor, but since this is lime paint, it is easy enough to get off (and this is just where it managed to get on the floor between the pieces of cardboard that I put down). I did a bit of the bathroom too, although that isn't done yet. Still, it looks so nice. It will be even nicer when we hang some paintings, but we aren't there yet (in part because we need to install something like an art rail to hang the paintings from, since the wall is in no state to handle punctures, and in part because I need to paint the paintings we want to hang).
