Aging

I just had this fantastic talk with one of my friends. We are both getting older, and our parents are getting older. Sure, our parents are able to do things for themselves and make plans for as they get older, but there will come a time when they are less able to do that. One of the difficulties for me is that I live far from my family and don't drive. My mom lives with my sister, so I don't have to worry about her, but we don't really have a plan for my dad. He lives way out in the middle of the desert, and - like I said - we don't drive. You see the problem. However, my friend pointed out that he would be willing to come and help me drive if needed, and then I realized that I have lots of people who I could ask for help if I needed to go to the US to help with something related to my father. I guess I had forgotten that I could ask for help with this. Hopefully, this problem will not appear for a while, but it is comforting to remember that there are people who would help me.
