Not so functional
Aug. 26th, 2024 06:12 pmWell, I got woken up at about 5am by an earthquake. It wasn't very strong here, but it was a surprise. I slept okay after that but not great. Also, Joel is away (much closer to the epicenter of the earthquake, although also okay), and I tend to do less well when he isn't around. We got the UPS (backup power supply) so that now the little electricity blips won't keep forcing the networked storage system to reboot. I'm happy about that. I also finished listening to this super long book about Churchill, which wasn't great but wasn't bad enough to quit listening to. I've been so teary recently. I kept crying when listening to the ending of "The Haunting of Tram Car 015" by P. Djèlí Clark during the part where the women are banding together. Then I cried at the end of the book about Churchill when they played one of his speeches. Granted, I _always_ cry when I listen to Churchill's speeches. I'm going to try to finish up something before my walk. At least I can listen to Murderbot when I walk, so I know that will keep me going.
