A nice long walk

I went on a longer walk than usual. Got home later than I would like, but it was a really lovely walk. We have wood worms chewing in our house, which is annoying. The guy who will deal with that came yesterday. It will be good to get it done, but we will have to be out of the house for three days. We are holding off until late September to do it, as we have plans to be away then. Having this done will kill all the other insects in the house too, which I am sad about, as there are spiders and other inoffensive creatures that I am sad about killing. And I'm not thrilled about being in the house after those three days, as it will be full of poison. We almost certainly got the wood worms from the most recent shipment of lumber. But how are we supposed to get lumber to make furniture if it will infect the house? The exterminator said that we should buy treated wood, but I don't want treated wood. If it is treated, we will have to carefully pick up every bit of sawdust, as it is potentially toxic. I won't be happy handling it, etc. So, that is out. ChatGPT suggested quarantining the wood, so that we can see if it has wood worms eventually. We will also paint it with wood worm poison after we have finished making the furniture. Clearly, this is a pain in the ass. Oh, well.
