All is going well. I just finished reading a book by one of my friends. That was super exciting and engaging. He does a great job of writing about Turkey and North Africa, even though he isn't native to one of those countries. I have wanted to write about the fall of Malacca in about 1510 to the Portuguese, but I really hesitant, since I am not from there. However, my Portuguese teacher pointed out that it is important to talk about what the Portuguese did in those places and how awful they sometimes were. (I'm pretty sure that the guy who was in charge of the siege was famous for cutting off ears from people he conquered.) At least, being in Portugal, I feel like I might be able to get some interesting information, which gives me a kind of hook. My friend who wrote the book (it is about a man in Turkey who is cursed) actually experienced the beginning of the book. He was working in Turkey, and his Turkish friend was cursed by an old woman. Anyway, I'm focusing a lot on writing these days, so it is definitely interesting to see how others put together their stories. This one was well done.
