So, last night, we had a big rain storm, and the windows started leaking. It turns out (after much stress and worry) that the problem is just that there is absolutely no sealant on the outside of the windows at all around the frame. So, obviously, that is the problem. We'll fix it either by putting on the sealant or getting new windows, which we need to do, and having them put on the sealant. The contractor wasn't supposed to put in new windows, although I was a bit miffed that he didn't say anything about the lack of sealant. Anyway, I figured that I should message him, because the paint in the bathroom is starting to bubble. I also needed to ask if the electrical is grounded. He says that it is. Hopefully, that is true. As for the bathroom, it turns out that what is on the walls is not paint. It is something that goes under paint, and it isn't supposed to get wet. However, no one told us that, so we have been showering in the bathroom. That means the walls in the shower part have gotten wet. After a kind of grouchy exchange with the contractor about all this, we finally understood that he thought we were going to paint it (which we would have done wrong, because the fancy under-paint stuff needs to be sanded and have a layer of some kind of fancy primer put on it before putting on a fancy paint). While we are annoyed about this, there is nothing that can be done to make him fix it, since even though he told us that everything was guaranteed for two years, the company has been shut down. However, he is at least going to come over and tell us what needs to be done to fix this. Ugh.
