Sprinkles!

Well, I put in the stems on the grapes in my painting and the colored sugar on the cake. However, the colored sugar doesn't look quite right. After looking at photos of colored sugar (like these), it looks like the sugar is darker than expected for the base layer with bright and very bright sprinkles over top. Tomorrow, I'll be busy with tai chi and then writers group, but I hope that I'll have time on Sunday to fix it. I should note that the original painting has sprinkles that look like they were airbrushed on the cake (unless they were supposed to be painted on the cake instead of sprinkled). I looked online, and it is possible to make colored sugar from vegetables. So, they would have been able to do it back before commercial food coloring. So, anyway, it isn't like I'm a complete failure (not that I thought I was) for not getting the sugar crystals looking right the first time.
