Annoying International Finance Time
Feb. 21st, 2022 08:25 pmThe ongoing drama with paperwork continues to be ongoing. There is an international currency exchange company that we are trying to use to exchange dollars for euros, but it is _so_hard_ to send money to them. I'm hoping that I'll get that all organized in the next week. We signed the paperwork for opening the bank account during a Zoom call with a lawyer. The lawyer was super nice and does immigration work, so now we have a contact. Yay! One of the lawyers I contacted previously finally got back to me, but after 3 weeks of silence, there is no chance that I'm going to go with them. We also heard last week that our Russian background checks are done, so we'll go tomorrow to pick them up, take them to the place that does the apostille, and drop them off there (I called the Portuguese embassy in Moscow and confirmed that they need an apostille, and they do).
In other news, Joel has some big shows coming up, so he is frequently at rehearsal. I am trying very hard not to completely lose my shit from international finance stress. I think it will let up soon, though.
