Learning

Those following along at home may remember that I quit taking Russian classes due to health issues and have seen a steady improvement in my ability to tolerate carbohydrates since then. This is great, because I don't especially like the prospect of having to inject myself with insulin. It would be (more or less) okay if using injectable insulin was a very very very precise science, but it seems to not be (not that my body seems to be doing such a good job at it either). Anyway, the downside of having to quit taking classes is that I had to quit taking classes. I really like learning things, and there are things I would really benefit from learning. Russian is one of those, and I'm kind of limping along in my Russian studies. I had a conversation with a friend of a friend the other day, but honestly, I don't remember if what I said was grammatically correct or not. He did seem to understand me, though.

Among the other things that I would like to learn is statistics. I love math and science, so I think this would work well for me. However, I learn these things best sitting in a classroom with a teacher. That isn't an option now, so I have to look to other options. Previously, I did a correspondence course in radio technology, which was fun, but the course wasn't really all that. So, I need to find something else. When my body's carb demands stabilize, maybe I can try some kind of "learn at your own pace" class in statistics which has video lectures. Or something. I hate video. Hmmm.... Well, maybe if they are really short lectures? Like 20 minutes? Anyway, this is what I'm thinking of at the moment.
