I've been taking phosphatidyl serine (probably should be one word, but on the bottle it is two) for a few days. Since I had huge problems with it when I took it during the day, I changed to taking 100mg just before bed. Supposedly, people feel more alert when they take it, so it isn't recommended to take it before bed. I don't have this problem.

What I am experiencing (good):
- I don't get the heavy-limbed feeling at night when I take it, like I was getting during the day
- I sleep better, wake up less, and feel less horrible in the morning
- I physically feel less tense
- I don't have sharp jolts of anxiety, and in general, my anxiety is more in the background.
- I am more able to read than I was. Previously, my vision would go in and out of focus quickly, so it was very difficult to focus my eyes on what I was reading. I'm sure there were additional problems too. Generally, I read poorly out loud in Russian. Today, my reading was completely normal, like a regular person's. I didn't have problems with eye focus or reading the wrong words.
- My blood pressure is higher (107/60 rather than 93/51), which is good.
- My pulse is lower (73 instead of 80), which is also quite good.

What I am experiencing (bad):
- I am having trouble controlling my eating sometimes.
- I get exhausted very very quickly and recover much more slowly than previously.
- I am dizzy.
- I am finding it difficult to write the correct letters, and my handwriting is worse.
- I am dopey and can't think.
- When typing, I am making many many more mistakes.
- I have no additional energy. I can't run to get across the street. There are no reserves.
- It seems like my blood sugar is higher.

What I think is happening:
Phosphatidyl serine is supposed to lower cortisol. I think it is doing this. I think that as a result, less insulin is being pumped into my system. I think I have some kind of insulin resistance (or something like it) from being flooded with insulin for so long (ie whatever the doctors here are calling "diabetes"). With less insulin, less fuel is going into my cells.

Analysis:
It looks like every one of those things on the "bad" list is "my blood sugar is fucked up". Every one of the things on the "good" list is really good. Even the lowering of my insulin is good, although my body can't cope with it right now. This seems like the path to better health, if I can tolerate the blood sugar issues.

Options for improving the situation:
- Take a lower dosage
- I took a lower dosage during the day, and it didn't really help. This is still an option, though.
- Take vitamins that encourage my insulin to do a better job.
- I already take lots of these. There are some that I can add in, although it seems like vanadium hurts my stomach. I'm also concerned that more niacinamide will make me more insane/grouchy.
- Eat more of something that has previously helped.
- I am increasing my olive oil intake and will eat more sunflower seeds tomorrow (15g!).
- Stop taking this entirely and replace it with soy lecithin.
- I might try that if nothing else works, but the "good" results are really good, and I didn't have as much positive stuff when I ate soy lecithin before.
- Increase the amount of sugar I'm eating to 60g.
- Previously, I've felt like ass when I did this, but the situation is different. I might eat... a whole apple! (Not really. That's too much.)

I am getting my period now and taking classes, so those elements are probably making everything worse.
